Company Overview
Coffema International is a food product machinery manufacturer, offering coffee grinders and makers, espresso machines, and hot water systems, as well as providing repair, financing, and maintenance services for customers. In line with their mission, “Great coffee. Everywhere.”, they deliver commercial coffee machines and service globally and have played a major role in shaping the out-of-home coffee market for over 50 years. Coffema has built up a nationwide network of branches throughout Germany with ten showrooms and its own training centre – internationally, Coffema established subsidiaries in Poland, the Netherlands, Denmark, Switzerland and Dubai and has presense in 52 additional countries.
The Challenge
Coffema International had been using an unreliable storage platform with slow performance. When the search began for a new platform, the team knew they wanted storage software without issues or bugs, that would be reliable over the years, and had good performance relative to the annual cost of the product. Coffema has three systems for storage, including one SQL cluster, and two VMware ESXi clusters. The team desired caching technology as well as top level customer support in case they run into any issues with their clusters.

The Solution
In working with their VAR in Germany, Happyware, Coffema was presented OSNexus QuantaStor to fit their storage needs and budget. QuantaStor had the caching technology they desired, as well as a GUI that was easy to navigate and had more than just basic features. Happyware installed the new system for Coffema with ease and the Coffema team was more than satisfied with the experience. When working with the OSNexus support team, Coffema stated they had excellent support coming from OSNexus in London, UK.
The Result
Coffema has three QuantaStor systems; two being used with VMware, and one used with a Microsoft SQL cluster. These systems have been in operation for many years and proven reliable for Coffema.
